Mohair rug or blanket
Mohair rug or blanket handmade from wool from Angora goats
Beautiful, soft and shiny hand-woven mohair rug or blanket from the far east of Turkey. The mohair blankets are made from the wool of Angora goats from central and eastern Turkey. After the rugs have been woven, the wool is combed out, after which the rug is washed and a nice symmetrical pattern is brushed in. The rugs can be used as a rug (with anti-slip mat underneath) or as a blanket over a bed or sofa. The rugs or blankets are available in different sizes and colours.

What is mohair?
Mohair is wool fiber from the angora goat which is a domestic goat found in Turkey, in western Asia, North America and South Africa. The Angora goat lives at an altitude of a thousand meters. The animals are shorn twice a year and deliver approximately 1.5–2.5 kg of mohair wool at each shearing. The fibers are between 100 and 300 mm long. They have little strength, are slightly wrinkled, very elastic and have a fineness of 25-50 micrometres. In terms of colour, they are white-yellow and shiny. Mohair is used pure or mixed with other wool, among other things in outerwear, for example women's coats as well as in knitwear, furniture fabric, blankets, and rugs.

Washing instructions: can be washed with a wool detergent on a wool wash programme. However, it cannot be tumble dried, so washing in the summer is recommended.
